SALIYA AMARATHUNGA

Head of Wellness

Saliya is a veteran hotelier, with over 2 decades of experience.  These experiences span from front office to sales and marketing and include Five Star city hotels, Relais & Châteaux properties, and luxury boutique resorts.

Beyond the role of a business manager and following the deep calling of spirituality, it was a natural decision for him to commit to the next phase of his life to promote wellness. After leading the sales and marketing at Santani -a global leader in wellness tourism- Saliya is now the Head of Wellness at Santani helping guests in their overall wellbeing needs.

Saliya is no stranger to wellness with a long association of Body Movement in the ancient martial arts of Wu- Shu, which he committed to practising since his young days. He then moved on to Buddhist meditation practices, Reiki and Yoga. He is a level II Reiki practitioner and a Yoga Alliance certified trainer. A true believer and an astute reader in the spiritual traditions, Ayurveda and the Body Movement, Saliya has had many interactions with well-respected practitioners from across the world. These interactions and mutual learning have expanded his overall wellness capabilities and he combines the best of traditional and modern methods of wellness in helping the guests at Santani.

Living a fuller life each day on spirituality and healing for all is his aspiration.

DR. RANDIKA WISHWAMALI YAPA

Ayurveda Doctor

Dr Randika Wishwamali Yapa is a graduate from Gampaha Wickramarachchi Ayurveda Institute - University of Kelaniya with a Bachelor’s degree in Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery. Following her interests in different aspects of wellness, she furthered her education and training by completing a certificate course in Yoga and Relaxation Therapy. 

Her committed study of theory and practice of Panchakarma and beauty culture makes her aptly qualified to provide clients with a holistic approach to therapy at Santani Spa & Wellness Centre. As part of her further studies, she has done research on Chikitsa Sutra, different approaches to Ayurveda treatments for diseases based on different Ayurvedic traditional lineages. Dr Randika’s strengths include excellent client communications; in the adaptations of ancient wellness techniques and modern scientific approaches to a wide-ranging suite of treatments at Santani. This helps Dr Randika to ascertain and recommend each client she consults a sustained, results-based treatment that will continue to prove optimal benefits well beyond their stay at Santani.

DR NILUKA DILRUKSHI PERERA

Resident Ayurveda Doctor

Dr Niluka Dilrukshi Perera is a graduate from Gampaha Wickramarachchi Ayurveda Institute – University of Kelaniya with a Bachelor’s degree in Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery. Her acumen on varied aspects of Ayurveda and its modern adaptations has led her to take up the role of Resident Ayurveda Doctor at Santani Wellness Resort and Spa. Here she is the first point of consultation for guests helping them design various holistic wellness treatment plans to suit each individual. 

Dr Niluka has a committed track record in her chosen field with supportive training in Panchakarma & aromatherapy with theory & practical including pre-operative procedure, main treatment, post-treatment, Marma & and its applications. She has undergone training in all allied (Keraliya Panchakarma) treatment from Dr S.M. Jayarathna Nandadewa, University of Kelaniya. In furthering her academic pursuits, she has presented a paper on Munronia Pinnata (bin kohomba) and its clinical uses and has recently taken up study in the ancient science of Acupuncture. She is a keen student of minor Ayurvedic surgery procedures for ulcers, varicose veins, haemorrhoids and fistula conditions.
