Apple Cider Vinegar: An amazing natural allergy remedy, as it reduces the production of mucous and clears your lymphatic system. You can either just take a teaspoon or add it with some honey to a cup of hot water.

Nettle Leaf: This helps to block the production of histamine in your body, thus providing allergy relief naturally. Create herbal tea by adding some honey and some peppermint leaves with the nettle leaves, which makes for a lovely drink when your nose is sniffling.

Milk Thistle: This herb helps reduce allergic, inflammatory, and histaminic reactions and supports liver function.

Physical Activity

Doing regular exercise because practising sport builds up the immune system and it protects the organism from infections. Doing moderate sport under the supervision of a personal trainer who adapts the exercise to the individual needs of each person. Always avoid doing exercise outside at this time of year to prevent the classic hay fever. Yoga is a stress relieving activity and supports the immune system, and as we go through winter with our bodies hunched up during winter certain yoga poses help us to breathe better. Poses that help to open up the chest area help the congestion in your lungs and nasal passages, like the Bow Pose, Camel Pose, and Cobra Pose.

Natural Treatments

There are different natural treatments available that can help those suffering from allergies as these natural therapies have all been designed and chosen for their preventive and curing properties. A few examples are acupuncture that stimulates the body’s natural defences and promotes self-healing or the relaxing massages. Nasal irrigation i.e. regularly flushing nasal passages with a saline solution helps to improve allergy symptoms by about 27% according to the Journal of Rhinology & Allergy. Homoeopathy is great for treating spring allergies as the treatment can be personalised to each patient based on their allergic reactions, and it does not need to be taken continuously with a short course giving relief for weeks.

Spring allergies or hay fever such as dust mite allergy, dust allergy or pollen allergy develop more at this time of year and that’s why it is so important to prevent them in advance with natural remedies like these. However, if your symptoms are very severe, it is best to see an allergist specialist.
