REVIVO Wellness Resort Review By Frances Geoghegan

Our owner and founder Frances Geoghegan shares with us what she thought of her recent stay at REVIVO Wellness Resort in Bali.

Arrival & Location

Bali has always been a balm for me — an island that invites you to slow down, soften and remember who you are beneath the noise. But on my most recent trip, I was taken aback by how much Bali had developed as a tourist honeypot, and how awful the traffic was. It is a real problem. So I was very glad that REVIVO Wellness Resort, my home for 5 nights, was a very easy 30 minute drive from Denpasar airport; a big bonus.

REVIVO is tucked into a quiet corner of Nusa Dua, away from the buzz, yet close enough to the sea to feel its rhythm. From the moment I stepped through the gates, away from the madness outside, something shifted. The space itself is calming —understated Balinese design, open-air walkways, the gentle sound of water everywhere. It doesn’t shout “luxury,” but it absolutely feels luxurious in the truest sense — space, nature and quietness.

The Accommodation

My room was simple and elegant — cool stone floors, earthy textures and a private garden. While the accommodation is set apart from the main spa and restaurant, I appreciated the privacy. Walking through the gardens each morning to breakfast or to sunrise yoga felt like a meditation in itself.

The Wellness Concept

REVIVO Wellness Resort’s approach to wellness is subtle. It’s not about a dramatic detox or a punishing fitness regime - it’s about retraining the mind, reconnecting to your body, and creating rituals you can actually take home with you.

Most programmes begin with a one-on-one consultation with Aga, the in-house wellness consultant. She tailors your days based on what is needed — a mix of Yoga, deep stretching and bodywork that released tension I’d clearly been holding for years. There’s a rhythm to life at REVIVO that makes you feel held but not managed. Mornings started with movement — yoga, an aerial class or meditative breathing — followed by time in the spa.

The Food

At REVIVO Wellness Resort the food is nourishing and intelligently designed. Every plate is high in protein, low in refined carbs — much of it harvested from their on-site hydroponic garden. Think cold-pressed juices, fermented vegetables, broths and perfectly balanced main dishes.

The Classes

One of the unexpected highlights of my stay at REVIVO Wellness Resort was meeting Sofia, one of the resident yoga teachers — and, quite honestly, a rare gem. I’ve taken yoga classes all over the world, from five-star retreats to humble beachfront shalas, but there’s something about Sofia’s presence that sets her apart. She teaches with a kind of grounded wisdom that makes you feel both completely safe and gently challenged — a rare combination. Her sequencing is thoughtful, never formulaic, and always attuned to the energy of the room. Whether it was a slow-flow class in the early morning or a more restorative evening session, Sofia had an uncanny ability to tune in — not just to the group, but to each individual’s breath, posture, even emotional state. What makes her truly special though is her genuine authenticity. There’s no performance in her teaching — no yoga jargon, no forced spirituality — just quiet, confident knowledge and deep compassion. Her background in somatics and breathwork came through subtly in every class, guiding us to explore not just flexibility or strength, but how the body holds tension, how breath supports release, and how stillness can be a form of power.

By the end of my stay, I found myself rearranging my schedule just to make sure I could attend her sessions. It felt less like a workout and more like returning to a conversation with myself I didn’t know I needed.

If you’re lucky enough to practice with Sofia at REVIVO, don’t miss the opportunity. Teachers like her are rare — and the kind that stay with you long after the mat has been rolled up.

A deserved shout-out also goes to Sofia’s partner-in-wellness, the indomitable Gustu – part-priest, part-soul blessing healer, part-fitness coach and part-yogi. He is somebody whose whole is definitely greater than the sum of his parts.

A Few Extras That Made It Special

There’s an infrared sauna, IV vitamin therapies and a hydrotherapy circuit, as well as some bio-hacking gadgetsThey have complimentary transfers down the hill to the open-air Bali Collection shopping centre, as well as to Geger Beach, where all was calm and the water was crystal clear — one of many peaceful moments I’ll carry with me.

Final Thoughts

REVIVO Wellness Resort isn’t flashy. It’s not trying to be trendy. It’s thoughtful and grounded.
