TIA Wellness encourage healthy eating in an ultra fun way with their Natural Living Cuisine, it is based on adding different coloured food into your diet. They want to kick start our awareness of nutritional habits and help us become healthier using natural ingredients and what’s not to enjoy when you are eating a rainbow! They even give us ideas that are easy to implement and upkeep without it becoming a chore!

By eating different coloured foods and adding a few more raw foods into your everyday diet you will notice the positive effects the foods is having on your body, this will help you to listen and understand your body’s needs.

Natalie Rivier, Registered Holistic Nutritionist, and Chef Marcus Huber have created a unique and colourful fusion spa cuisine programme at TIA Wellness.  The Natural Living Spa cuisine is designed to build immunity, improve digestion and reduce stress and encourage sustainable healthy habits and good choices back home.’

 

What colours should you eat? 

Yellow/Orange fruit and vegetables:

  • Enhance your immune system
  • Help with Collagen formation
  • Help keep your eyes healthy

Yellow/orange fruit/vegetables: carrots, yellow peppers, squash, pumpkin, pineapple, sweet potato, papaya, oranges, lemons, mango

 

Blue/Purple fruit and vegetables:

  • Full of anti-oxidants so promote anti-ageing
  • Help detoxify the body
  • Can lower your risk of developing cancer

Blue/Purple fruit/vegetables: aubergine, purple cabbage, raisins, purple grapes, blueberries, blackberries, plums

 

Red fruit and vegetables:

  • Can lower your risk of developing cancer
  • Promote heart, prostrate and eye health

Red fruit/vegetables: tomatoes, red peppers, red cabbage, strawberries, cherries, watermelon, red onion, red apples, beetroot, raspberries, cranberries

 

Green fruit and vegetables:

  • Helps to purify your blood
  • Are the most nutrient rich vegetables
  • Can lower your risk of developing cancer

Green fruit and vegetables: spinach, green beans, peas, broccoli, cabbage, kale, bok choy, cucumbers, asparagus, green apples, limes, avocado, lettuce, celery

 

White/Tan fruit and vegetables:

  • Help the body fight infection
  • Promote heart health

White fruit/vegetables: Onion, spring onion, mushrooms, ginger, chives, tofu, cauliflower, parsnips

 

Easy tips to add extra vegetables and fruit into your daily diet:

  • Swap a sugary afternoon snack for a banana
  • Swap  French fries for sweet potato or carrot fries
  • Snack on carrot sticks
  • Add blueberries to your smoothie or oatmeal
  • Add dried cranberries or cherries to your cereal
  • Snack on red apples
  • Add red pepper strips to your salad
  • Drink fresh watermelon or tomato juice
  • Add fresh or frozen peas to rice
